We picked out one thing that we are experts on and this week we will continue to write our All About books about that topic. I've seen some great ideas from our little authors such as adding in a table of contents and captions with their pictures. We will begin conferencing about our writing on this each day.
We have a fun week ahead with Book Clubs starting! I can't wait to dive into these book studies with your kiddos and see all the great learning that will go on with their reading. We will focus on different skills with each book club group.
Spelling:
Spelling lists will come home on Monday and we will assess on Friday. This week we will focus on -oi and -oy which make the same sound.
Math:
We will continue our addition and subtraction strategies this week. We will start to mix up the word problems and distinguish between which key words tell us to add or subtract. We will have a review on Thursday and assessment on Friday to see if we have mastered these skills.
The 2016 election is days away and we are preparing for it. Our class will discuss the characteristics of a good president and vote on a class president. We will do some fun STEM activities on Halloween. This should be fun!
